We are happy to introduce the newly appointed professor, Hayoung Chung.

Prof. Chung’s main research area is computational structural analysis and design optimization, where he aims to solve multiscale-multiphysics design problems that are commonly found in multifunctional structures (e.g., stimuli-responsive solids) and structures experiencing extreme conditions (e.g., thermal shock). Combining the classical understanding of solids with the state-of-the-art computational analysis and design techniques is his overarching research theme.
