Notice

[G] 2024-1 Graduation

If anyone who is planning to graduate in this semester, please refer to the following information;

1. ~May.17.(Fri) 18:00: Registration for Graduation & Nomination of thesis committee members
– [Portal] – [Graduation] – [Request for Graduation] – [Portal] – [Graduation] – [Thesis/Dissertation info] – [Graduate Thesis]

2. ~May.22.(Wed) 18:00 : Submission of documents below to the staff
1) Nomination of thesis committee (Portal+Staff)
– Uploading through portal: Print out the paper with info of committee -> Signature of advisor -> Scan -> Upload on the portal
– Submission the paper with advisor’s signature to the staff
2) Pledge of observance of research ethics (Attached 1)

3. ~June.14.(Fri): Final Defense
1) Before the defense: Email your thesis to all committee members 2 weeks before the defense day
2) Things to bring for defense
– Evaluation form (Attached 2,3)
– Oral test evaluation form (Attached 4): ONLY MS students -> No official format, but evaluation of presentation ability using English
– Approval of thesis (Attached 5)
– Result of “Turn it in” (Print out the page including your name and plagiarism % and submit it to the advisor)

– Manual: Attached 7
– When the result % is over 20%, submit the additional form, the plagiarism judgement form (Attached 7) with advisor’s opinion
– Inquiry: Kwon, Yulee at the library (052-217-1405 / kyl7539@unist.ac.kr)

4. ~June.21.(Fri): Submission of documents below to the staff
1) Evaluation form (Attached 2,3,4)
2) Approval of thesis (Attached 5)
3) Result of “Turn it in” (Print out the page including your name and plagiarism %)
– When the result % is over 20%, submit the additional form, the plagiarism judgement form (Attached 6) with advisor’s opinion

5. ~June.21.(Fri): Application for permanent course completion
– Qualification: when you can’t submit the final thesis or official English test score within the attendance period
* Attendance period: MS 6th semester / Ph.D 12th sem. / MS-Ph.D 14th sem.
* The attendance period can be extended maximum 1 year once with approval of committee. (contact the staff first)
– Application: Submit the application form for course completion (Attached 9) to the staff
– Note: Unlike the Undergraduate’s course completion, the course completion is a “permanent” application. It’s not “graduating fully”, and you can’t get the actual “degree”

6. July 15(Mon) ~ July 17(Wed): Submission of thesis
1) Online submission: July 15.(Mon) ~ July.17.(Wed)
– Submission: http://unist.dcollection.net/?localeParam=en
2) Hardcover submission: July 18.(Thu) ~ July 19.(Fri)
– Submission to the library (MS: 3 books / Ph.D: 3 books)
* Don’t print out the “form for agreement on thesis open&release” from the system, but submit the Attached 9 with advisor’s signature to the library when submitting the thesis

8. Remark
1) Reading the thesis guideline thoroughly.
2) Using thesis template after reading the guideline (The template has been changed from each department’s to common form)
3) Observing the research ethics for entire process and submitting the pledge to the staff

9. FAQ
1) Deadline of defense:June 14.(Fri)
2) Method of defense: Online / Offline / Online+Offline defense are all possible with approval of committee members.
3) Not getting the committee member’s signature in person, you could get online signature (make sure the online signature is not too blurry)
